About the art-

Like others, I have been celebrating the life of Frankie Beverly and how he shaped many of our experiences and memories. Attending the Cincinnati Music Festival each year for decades, my fondest memories are the years when he was a headliner. Each year We Would Get Back In Stride Again, making our way to the stadium. White is not a forgiving color, but he wore it, so we wore it, bringing some Joy and Pain to our outfits but we also enjoyed the sea of white symbolizing We Are One. But oh, how the Happy Feelin’s would flow, it was such a Golden Time of Day.

I wanted to capture the tradition of us hurrying to get there in this art piece, arriving by car or on foot from all places for an amazing night of his music and our ritual healing. Frankie, Before I Let Go, I Want To Thank You for the amazing memories you have given us. RIP Mr. Frankie Beverly, the Silky, Silky Soul Singer.
