About the art:

The idea for this piece came to me after someone asked me if I realized the seeds (early career moves) that I planted years ago would blossom into such a healthy plant (career, director).  It was an interesting thought and metaphor that I thought about translated into this.

The contrast of black and white vs. color represents new beginnings vs. an abundance of opportunities. It also represents a simple beginning that morphed into an acceptance of finally realizing and fully using God-given talents.  The cluster of people represents the many lives we touch and impact along the way. I’m hopeful the ‘seeds’ that I have planted will spark generational potential and prime continued growth for our community.

Fun info: 

I usually don’t mix black and white images with color, but I loved this process.  It is a piece created on wood, which at the time was a new experience for me.
