About this art:

A piece in my African American Hair Care Products series highlighting the hair care products of my childhood and our culture. Thinking back to the days when my mom would give us cholesterol conditioner ‘treatments’. She’d work it into our hair and put a shower cap on it so it could do its magic and make our hair healthy and grow. I loved it. I remember how it would get warm, and I knew it was working.  Our hair would feel so good and silky after that. I continued that practice for years as an adult and then used it on my daughter’s hair (except the cap was a Kroger bag!)
